Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

hubot-dropcam

This is a script that allows you to view your Dropcams from Hubot.

Commands

  • hubot dropcam list
    • Lists all Dropcams found on the account, and their online/offline status
  • hubot dropcam me
    • Gets the image for the first Dropcam on the account
  • hubot dropcam me {camera}
    • Gets the image for the Dropcam with the name {camera}

Installation

  • Add to package.json dependencies
    • '"hubot-dropcam": "^1.0"'
  • Add to external-scripts.json
    • "hubot-dropcam"

Configuration

Depending on which environment variables you set hubot-dropcam will behave differently.

  • HUBOT_DROPCAM_USERNAME, HUBOT_DROPCAM_PASSWORD
    • Required, login credentials for Dropcam website
    • Can be credentials for a hubot-only account that your cameras are shared with.
  • HUBOT_DROPCAM_BLACKLIST
    • A comma-separated list of Dropcam UUIDs to ignore.
  • DEBUG
    • If set, hubot-dropcam will be a bit more noisy (insecure)
  • HUBOT_DROPCAM_S3_ACCESS_KEY_ID, HUBOT_DROPCAM_S3_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY, HUBOT_DROPCAM_S3_BUCKET
    • The default option is to save your captures to an s3 bucket. You'll need all 3 of these variables.
  • HEROKU_URL
    • If the s3 variables are not set, hubot-dropcam will revert to saving images to your hubot directory and send links using this URL.
