Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Readme

hubot-wallabag

The purpose of this project was to save links from a slack channel (or any hubot adapter) to wallabag using our hubot bot.

So all links are send inside the same wallabag account. An improvements will be made when the group will be present inside wallabag.

Normally it should works with any other adapter than slack (or none).

Usage

  • [hubot name] link exporter add here will save all link from this channel to wallbag
  • [hubot name] link exporter stop here will stop to save all links
  • [hubot name] link export this will save the link following in the message
  • [hubot name] link exporter list channels list all chanels to save sared links

adding tags

Each time a link is saved two tags are present:

  • the channel name with "channel-[channel-name]"
  • if the link was automatically added or not with "taken-auto" or "taken-manual"

If you wan to add tags, just write you links and then add your tags with a "#" in front of them, like on social media.

Installation

In hubot project repo, run:

npm install hubot-wallabag --save

Then add hubot-wallabag to your external-scripts.json:

["hubot-wallabag"]

Configuration

Using environmental variable, give te token for wallabag.

  • HUBOT_WALLABAG_URL: url to wallabag instance
  • HUBOT_WALLABAG_USERNAME: the username to connect to wallabag
  • HUBOT_WALLABAG_PASSWORD: the password to connect to wallabag
  • HUBOT_WALLABAG_CLIENT_ID: the client id to connect to your instance (go to your wallabag instance in '/developer')
  • HUBOT_WALLABAG_CLIENT_SECRET: the secret to connect to wallabag

TODO

  • using groups when it will be ready
  • adding a way to not save link even on listened channels
  • pushing links from wallabag to hubot
  • find a way to make the oauth auth not hardcoded because it's ugly!
