Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

📦 Installation

Install globally:

npm install -g icomp

Or use via npx:

npx icomp [command]

Or as a dev dependency:

npm install --save-dev icomp

🚀 Usage CLI mode

Generate React Components from SVGs

icomp generate --input ./path/to/svg/folder --output ./path/to/output/folder

Example

icomp generate --input ./icons --output ./src/components/icons

Watch mode (listen for changes)

icomp generate --input ./icons --output ./src/components/icons --watch

Options for generate command

Start ui with specific port

Options for generate command

Default is 5001 or next free port. |


Add script to package.json

Then open your browser and go to http://localhost:5001 to access the UI.


ℹ️ Tips

  • You can drag&drop SVG files into the UI.
  • You can paste SVG code directly into the UI.
  • You can paste icon directly from Figma.
  • You can rename, generate, and delete icons in the UI.
  • Index is regenerated automatically.
