Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Imgbb-NestJS

A NestJS module to easily integrate the ImgBB API for uploading images to ImgBB and retrieving the URLs of the uploaded images.

This module provides a simple service and controller to upload images to ImgBB directly from your NestJS application.

Features

  • Upload images to ImgBB via the API.
  • Easy integration with NestJS projects.
  • Support for image uploads via HTTP POST requests.
  • Configurable options for API key and additional settings.

Installation

To use the imgbb-nestjs module in your NestJS project, follow these steps:

  1. Install the module via npm:

    npm install imgbb-nestjs
  2. Install the required dependencies for multer (for file uploads):

    npm install @nestjs/platform-express multer

Setup

  1. Import the ImgbbModule in your NestJS AppModule and configure it with options:

    import { Module } from '@nestjs/common';
    import { ImgbbModule } from 'imgbb-nestjs';

    @Module({
      imports: [
        ImgbbModule.forRoot({
          apiKey: 'YOUR_IMGBB_API_KEY',
        }),
      ],
    })
    export class AppModule {}

    Replace 'YOUR_IMGBB_API_KEY' with your actual ImgBB API key. You can also pass additional options like maxSize and expiration based on your use case.

Usage

Once the module is set up, you can use it in your controllers.

Example Controller

import {
  Controller,
  Post,
  UploadedFile,
  UseInterceptors,
} from '@nestjs/common';
import { FileInterceptor } from '@nestjs/platform-express';
import { ImgbbService } from 'imgbb-nestjs';

@Controller()
export class AppController {
  constructor(private readonly imgbbService: ImgbbService) {}

  @Post('upload')
  @UseInterceptors(FileInterceptor('image'))
  async uploadImage(@UploadedFile() file: Express.Multer.File) {
    if (!file) {
      throw new Error('No image uploaded');
    }

    const result = await this.imgbbService.uploadImage(file.buffer, {});
    return result;
  }
}
import {
  Controller,
  Post,
  UploadedFile,
  UseInterceptors,
} from '@nestjs/common';
import { FileInterceptor } from '@nestjs/platform-express';
import { ImgbbService } from 'imgbb-nestjs';

@Controller()
export class AppController {
  constructor(private readonly imgbbService: ImgbbService) {}

  @Post('upload')
  @UseInterceptors(FileInterceptor('image'))
  async uploadImage(@UploadedFile() file: Express.Multer.File) {
    if (!file) {
      throw new Error('No image uploaded');
    }
    const options = {
      name: 'Custom Image Name',
      expiration: 3600, // 1 hour (3600 seconds)
    };
    const result = await imgbbService.uploadImage(imageBuffer, options);
    return result;
  }
}

Upload Image Endpoint

  • POST /upload: Uploads an image to ImgBB.

To test the uploadImage endpoint, use the following curl command:

curl --location --request POST 'http://localhost:3000/upload' \
--form 'image=@"/path/to/your/image.jpg"'

Replace "/path/to/your/image.jpg" with the path to the image file you want to upload.

Configuration Options

The ImgbbModule.forRoot() method accepts the following options:

  • apiKey: Your ImgBB API key (required).
  • options (optional): Additional configuration options for the upload.
    • maxSize (optional): Maximum allowed image size in bytes. Default is unlimited.
    • expiration (optional): The expiration time of the uploaded image link in seconds. Default is 0 (no expiration).
