Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

🧭 InfraQuery

🧠 Unified Extraction Data Layer

InfraQuery is an open-source framework that knows how to discover, extract, and collect data from any connected environment — spanning IT, OT, IoT, Cloud, and SaaS.
It automatically maps infrastructure and services into a single, unified extraction layer, providing the foundation for analytics, monitoring, and AI-driven insights across all systems — from on-prem devices to cloud-native APIs.

This layer is designed to be agentless, extensible, and protocol-agnostic, with native support for network and industrial protocols (SNMP, WMI/WinRM, Modbus, BACnet, ONVIF, MQTT, and more).

Our goal is to make infrastructure data open, composable, and universally accessible — empowering developers and organizations to build smarter, more connected operational intelligence solutions.

🚀 Key Features

  • Agentless Discovery – No agents or installers required; discover all connected devices instantly.
  • Multi-Protocol Support – SNMP, Modbus, ONVIF, WMI, Prometheus, BACnet, HTTP, and more.
  • Device Fingerprinting – Identify vendor, model, system type, and capabilities automatically.
  • Topology Traversal – Explore networks and subnets intelligently using adaptive scanning.
  • Unified Data Model – Output structured, semantic data for analytics or integration.
  • Extensible Design – Add or customize protocol modules easily.

🧩 Use Cases

  • Build unified infrastructure inventory across IT, IoT, and OT networks.
  • Feed monitoring systems (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, etc.) with real-time device data.
  • Power analytics and predictive maintenance platforms.
  • Replace fragmented discovery tools with one agentless extraction layer.

⚙️ Getting Started

  1. Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/maprixcom/InfraQuery.git
cd infraquery
  1. Run discovery

Example (CLI or Node.js API):

infraquery scan --subnet 192.168.0.0/24
  1. Output

InfraQuery produces structured JSON:

{
  "192.168.0.10": {
    "vendor": "Canon",
    "type": "printer",
    "protocols": ["SNMP", "HTTP"],
    "metrics": {
      "sysName": "Canon-iR-ADV",
      "tonerLevel": 74
    }
  }
}

🧠 Architecture Overview

InfraQuery is designed as a modular extraction engine, built to unify multi-protocol data from diverse device ecosystems.
