Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

CLI tool to initialize TypeScript projects optimized for AI-assisted development workflows.

Installation

npm install -g init-ai

Usage

Create a new project

init-ai my-project

Initialize in current directory

init-ai

What it creates

The tool sets up a complete TypeScript project with:

  • TypeScript configuration - Strict settings optimized for modern Node.js
  • Package scripts - dev, check, repo commands ready to use
  • Repomix integration - Generate AI-friendly codebase summaries
  • Development dependencies - tsx, TypeScript, repomix, @types/node
  • AI instruction templates - Coding guidelines for consistent AI assistance

Key commands after setup

# Start development
npm run dev

# Type check
npm run check

# Generate AI-ready codebase summary
npm run repo

The npm run repo command generates markdown files (new-llm-1.md, etc.) that contain your entire codebase formatted for AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT.
