Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

EnergyBridge Adapter

EnergyBridge integrates energy devices into ioBroker using templates (Category → Manufacturer → Template).

Supported transports (depends on the selected template): Modbus TCP/RTU/ASCII, MQTT, HTTP/JSON, UDP, M‑Bus, Speedwire, 1‑Wire.

Community edition scope: Industrial/utility templates are intentionally excluded (for example TESVOLT, SMA Core1 / STP125, Alpitronic DC fast chargers, and industrial I/O modules).

For a German version of this documentation, see README.de.md.

Implemented devices (overview)

The list below is only a short overview. Template definitions are stored in admin/templates.json.

  • PV inverters: FoxESS, Goodwe, KACO, Kostal, SMA (STPxx‑50, STPxx‑US‑41, Sunny Tripower X), SolaX, Solar‑Log, SunSpec, Victron
  • Meters: Janitza, Socomec, Siemens, Eastron, ABB, Carlo Gavazzi, Victron, SunSpec, M‑Bus, …
  • EV chargers / wallboxes: go‑e, KEBA, ABL, openWB, Webasto, Heidelberg, Mennekes, SolaX, Spelsberg
  • Battery / ESS: FENECON, FoxESS, Kostal, SolaX, Tesla, BYD, Pylontech, SMA, Victron, REFU, Sinexcel, Samsung, ADS‑TEC, …
  • Heat / power‑to‑heat: TECALOR, LAMBDA, myPV, Askoma
  • IO / sensors: Shelly, 1‑Wire (DS18B20)

Requirements

  • Node.js >= 20
  • ioBroker js-controller >= 6.0.11
  • ioBroker admin >= 7.6.20
  • Network access to the devices (IP/port, and Modbus Unit ID if applicable)

Setup

  1. Install the adapter via the ioBroker adapter list.
  2. Create an instance and open its configuration in Admin UI.
  3. In the General tab, adjust polling interval/timeouts as required.
  4. In the Devices tab, maintain your device list in the JSON editor (devicesJson).

Tip: Start with an empty array [] and add devices step-by-step. The adapter uses template definitions from admin/templates.json.

Notes

  • Write access is optional and depends on the selected template.
  • The adapter automatically creates the required objects/states in ioBroker.

It uses the libraries modbus-serial, mqtt and axios to communicate with devices.
