Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

ioBroker GPS (serial/USB) Adapter

Number of Installations Number of Installations NPM version

Test and Release Translation status Downloads

This adapter reads GPS data from a serial or USB GPS device and makes it available in ioBroker.

This adapter uses Sentry libraries to automatically report exceptions and code errors to the developers. For more details and for information how to disable the error reporting see Sentry-Plugin Documentation! Sentry reporting is used starting with js-controller 3.0.

Getting Started

Insert a USB or serial GPS receiver into your ioBroker host system. Make sure the device is recognized by the operating system and note the assigned serial port (e.g. COM3 on Windows or /dev/ttyUSB0 on Linux). Go to the adapter configuration page and select the serial port and other parameters if necessary (default baud rate is usually 4800 or 9600). Save and start the adapter. After a while, GPS data should appear in the adapter's data points.

Tested devices

Normally, all devices that deliver NMEA data via serial or USB should work. Here are some devices that have been tested:

  • GlobalSat BU-353N5 USB-GNSS-Receiver
  • VK-162 G-Mouse USB GPS
  • G72 G-Mouse USB
