Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

ionic-plugin-deeplinks-cc

This plugin makes it easy to respond to deeplinks through custom URL schemes on iOS and Android.

WITHOUT: Universal/App Links

Installation

cordova plugin add ionic-plugin-deeplinks --variable URL_SCHEME=myapp

Fill in the appropriate values as shown below:

  • URL_SCHEME - the custom URL scheme you'd like to use for your app. This lets your app respond to links like myapp://blah

Handling Deeplinks in JavaScript

Ionic/Angular 2

note: make sure to call IonicDeeplink from a platform.ready or deviceready event

Using Ionic Native (available in 1.2.4 or greater):

import { Deeplinks } from 'ionic-native';

Deeplinks.route({
  '/about-us': AboutPage,
  '/universal-links-test': AboutPage,
  '/products/:productId': ProductPage
}).subscribe((match) => {
  // match.$route - the route we matched, which is the matched entry from the arguments to route()
  // match.$args - the args passed in the link
  // match.$link - the full link data
  console.log('Successfully matched route', match);
}, (nomatch) => {
  // nomatch.$link - the full link data
  console.error('Got a deeplink that didn\'t match', nomatch);
});

If you're using Ionic 2, there is a convenience method to route automatically (see the simple Ionic 2 Deeplinks demo for an example):

Deeplinks.routeWithNavController(this.navController, {
  '/about-us': AboutPage,
  '/products/:productId': ProductPage
}).subscribe((match) => {
  // match.$route - the route we matched, which is the matched entry from the arguments to route()
  // match.$args - the args passed in the link
  // match.$link - the full link data
  console.log('Successfully matched route', match);
}, (nomatch) => {
  // nomatch.$link - the full link data
  console.error('Got a deeplink that didn\'t match', nomatch);
});

// Note: routeWithNavController returns an observable from Ionic Native so it *must* be subscribed to first in order to trigger.
