Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Jikan Anime MCP

Search anime and manga from MyAnimeList through the public Jikan API. No key required.

This file is self contained. It reads public data only and never writes to the machine. All output is bounded and honest about what could not be fetched.

  • search_anime Search anime by title.

  • anime_info Details for an anime.

  • season_anime Anime in the current season.

Usage

npm install
npm run build
node dist/index.js

Jikan limits requests to about 3 per second. The server reports honest errors when the limit is hit.
