Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Interactive terminal for JobSeek — search jobs, manage applications, optimize your resume, and more, all from an interactive prompt with tab completion and AI-powered natural language input.

npm version License: MIT

Install

npm install -g jobseek-repl

Usage

Run jobseek or js with no arguments to enter the interactive REPL:

$ js

      ██╗ ██████╗ ██████╗ ███████╗███████╗███████╗██╗ ██╗
      ██║██╔═══██╗██╔══██╗██╔════╝██╔════╝██╔════╝██║ ██╔╝

JobSeek CLI v1.1.4 — AI-powered job search from your terminal

Pass arguments to run a single command without entering the REPL:

js profile
js search auto --keyword "React" --remote

Natural Language Input

Don't remember the exact command? Just type what you want in plain English. The REPL uses Claude Haiku to infer the right command and runs it automatically:

js > show me my profile
  ✨ profile
  Name: Shawn Mitchell
  ...

js > find remote react developer roles
✨ search auto --keyword "react developer" --remote
Searching Dice for "react developer" (remote)...
  ...

js > how are my applications going
  ✨ applications
  ...

Known commands (like jobs, resume, whoami) execute directly with zero latency — AI inference only kicks in when the first word isn't a recognized command.

Features

  • Tab completion — commands, subcommands, and options
  • Command history — arrow keys navigate previous inputs
  • AI inference — type naturally, get the right command
  • Token tracking — see your AI credit balance after each command
  • All jobseek-cli commands — everything from jobseek-cli works in the REPL

Commands

Type ? in the REPL for the full command list. Highlights:

| Command | Description | |---------|-------------| | profile | View your full profile | | resume | View, upload, or optimize your resume | | jobs | List and analyze job matches | | search auto | Automated Dice search with AI matching | | search launch | Open job boards in your browser | | applications | List apps or generate cover letters | | claims | Unemployment insurance tracking | | question | Interview prep with STAR-format answers | | whoami | Show current user | | usage | Show AI token balance |

Authentication

js login # Interactive prompt
js login --browser # Browser SSO (Google/GitHub)
js login --ssh # SSH key authentication

Configuration

Credentials are stored in ~/.jobseek/config.json. See jobseek-cli for full configuration docs.
