there's two types of software - the "a" and the "b" model. the "a" model is a legitimate, fully legal model and the "b" model is the cracker version. the cracker guys turn to it and say, "i've already cracked john deere and i want it for free. i'll program it for you and you're going to use it to make him pay, right?"


i started this business because there was not a legal market, there was not an affordable market for a guy like me to bid on, and then john deere releases this software, and i ask myself, "i'm going to hire crackers and make the company pay?" and i said no, i said that's no. it will not happen. and then i go to the john deere service advisor and i ask them, "i'm going to hire crackers and make the company pay for this?" and they said, "well no, you're not." so i said, "well, if they're going to do it to me, they're going to do it to every farmer in america. "and they said, "well, technically yes, they are."


so let's say that this company has $1,000 in damage on their atv (all terrain vehicle) and they just hosed it right off. if they just fix it for $1,000, they're not going to pay you for a new part, and that's just the way it is. but if you say to them, "well, i'm a cracker, and i'm going to charge you $200 for a new part, and i'm going to sell the spare parts for $100, and i'm going to use all of my own labor, and i'm going to pay all of my own overhead," and then they say, "well, why?" and you say, "well, because it's a good business model for you."


and what happens is, they get all these different spare parts that they don't have the money for. they're kind of out of warranty because they have to pay a $100 labor charge, because they're paying $200 for the part. they don't have enough money to pay the $100 for a labor charge, or they don't know what to do with it, and they just keep it in their parts box in their garage, you know? 84d34552a1
