Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

JavaScript Captcha

Simple captcha module written in pure JavaScript with no dependencies

Install

npm install jcaptcha

Usage

Just include required JavaScript:

<script src="jCaptcha.js"></script>

Initialize it:

<script>
    var myCaptcha = new jCaptcha();
</script>

Call validate() method when required (e.g. on submit event):

<script>
    myCaptcha.validate();
</script>

No styling included, just style it as you wish :)

Options

jCaptcha can take an optional parameters - an object of key/value settings:

  • el String (default:jCaptcha) - css class for input element
  • requiredValue String (default:*) - required filed indicator
  • resetOnError Boolean (default:) - render new random numbers on error validate
  • focusOnError Boolean (default:) - focus input field on error validate
  • clearOnSubmit Boolean (default:) - clear input value on every validate
  • callback Object (default:null) - as invoked function these useful arguments are returned: response and captcha input node

API

reset() - generate new random numbers

validate() - validate entered result in input field
