Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Create classes with prototype, static attributes, mixins in JavaScript and extend them

JSKlass

Build Status Coverage Downloads npm version dependencies dev dependencies License

Create classes with prototype object, static properties and mixins in JavaScript.

Getting Started

Install jsklass module.

npm install jsklass

Include jsklass and you can start work with it.

var Class = require('jsklass');

var Basic = Class.create();
var Extended = Basic.extend();

For example, you can create Animal class and extend it with Cat class.

var Animal = Class.create({
    init: function() {
        this.type = "Animal";
    },

    getType: function() {
        return this.type;
    }
});

var Cat = Animal.extend({
    init: function() {
        this.type = "Cat";
    }
});

var justAnimal = new Animal();
justAnimal.getType(); // Animal

var justCat = new Cat();
justCat.getType(); // Cat

API

API has simple method. When you create Class you call create method of Class object.

If you want extends then call extend in existing class.

var result = Class.create(prototype, staticProperties, [mixinsArray]);
result.extend(prototype, staticProperties, [mixinsArray]);

Examples

Working example you can find here.

Basic creating and extending

var BasicClass = Class.create(); // BasicClass -> Object
var ExtendedClass = BasicClass.extend(); // ExtendedClass -> BasicClass -> Object
var MoreExtendedClass = ExtendedClass.extend(); // MoreExtendedClass -> ExtendedClass -> BasicClass -> Object

Creating classes with methods and attributes and extend them

var Class = require('../');

var BasicClass = Class.create({
    type: "Basic",

    init: function () {
        this.foo = "bar";
    },

    getType: function () {
        return this.type;
    }
});

var ExtendedClass = BasicClass.extend({
    type: "ExtendedClass",

    init: function () {
        this.bar = "foo";
    }
});

var MoreClass = BasicClass.extend({
    type: "MoreClass"
});

var basic = new BasicClass();
console.log(basic.getType()); // Basic
console.log(basic.foo); // bar

var extended = new ExtendedClass();
console.log(extended.getType()); // ExtendedClass
console.log(extended.foo); // undefined
console.log(extended.bar); // foo

var more = new MoreClass();
console.log(more.getType()); // MoreClass
console.log(more.foo); // bar
console.log(more.bar); // undefined

Creating classes with prototype and static methods

var BasicClass = Class.create({}, {
    staticFoo: 'bar'
});

var ExtendedClass = BasicClass.extend({}, {
    staticBar: 'foo'
});

console.log(BasicClass.staticFoo); // bar
console.log(BasicClass.staticBar); // undefined

console.log(ExtendedClass.staticFoo); // undefined
console.log(ExtendedClass.staticBar); // foo

Creating classes with prototype, static and mixins

var Class = require('../');

var EventEmitterMixin = {
    on: function () {
        return "on";
    },

    off: function () {
        return "off";
    },

    emit: function () {
        return "emit";
    }
};

var OtherMixin = {
    other: function () {
        return "Other";
    }
};

var EventEmitter = Class.create({}, {}, [EventEmitterMixin]);
var EventEmitterAndOther = Class.create({}, {}, [EventEmitterMixin, OtherMixin]);

var event = new EventEmitter();
console.log(event.on()); // on
console.log(event.off()); // off
console.log(event.emit()); // emit
console.log(event.other); // undefined

var otherEvent = new EventEmitterAndOther();
console.log(otherEvent.on()); // on
console.log(otherEvent.off()); // off
console.log(otherEvent.emit()); // emit
console.log(otherEvent.other()); // Other
