What is jbs

jbs is a Claude Agent SDK orchestrator that takes projects from idea through design, build, test, polish, launch, and growth. It combines 57,000+ lines of battle-tested workflow prompts with a fresh-context-per-task execution engine, crash recovery, and cost tracking. The core differentiator: Opus with no extended thinking produces excellent results through structured prompt engineering -- cheaper than every competitor while delivering higher quality.

Two modes: full project lifecycle (jbs init) for any software project, and web agency mode (jbs web) for streamlined website building.

Prerequisites

• Node.js >= 22.0.0
• git installed and configured
• Anthropic API key set as ANTHROPIC_API_KEY environment variable
• Playwright (optional) -- for browser-based features like visual QA and lighthouse audits
