Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

kemas-cli

Risk-tiered review and cleanup of a downloads folder. Lists what's there, buckets it by risk, asks before deleting anything. Never deletes without confirmation.

Install

npm install -g kemas-cli

Usage

kemas

Scans ~/Downloads by default. Options:

kemas --dir ~/Desktop        # scan a different folder
kemas --dry                  # list only, no prompts, no changes

Buckets

  • Safe to remove — installers (.dmg/.pkg), exact duplicates (same ext + size, older copy), 0-byte files, .DS_Store, screenshots, screen recordings, Xcode build artifacts, WhatsApp media, PDFs/images
  • Need review before remove — DB dumps (superseded ones only — latest per project is kept for review), spreadsheets/exports, folders, anything uncategorized

Each non-empty bucket prompts all / none / 1,2,3 — remove everything, keep everything, or pick specific rows by number. Nothing is touched until you answer.
