klipgen-capcut-extract

Package one human-edited CapCut project into a single, self-contained folder: every source file (footage, audio, images, stickers) plus the complete structured record of how it was cut — timeline, transcript, layers, every clip's settings, the original draft, and a coverage report.

You run it with npx; it installs nothing else and touches nothing in your CapCut projects except to read them.

Use

# 1) See your CapCut projects
npx klipgen-capcut-extract list

# 2) Extract one (CLOSE CapCut first). Output folder goes to your Desktop by default.
npx klipgen-capcut-extract "<project-name>"

# …or pick a location:
npx klipgen-capcut-extract "<project-name>" --out "C:/some/folder"

<project-name> is a name from list, a full path to the project folder, or a path to its draft_content.json.

What you get

  draft_content.json   the ORIGINAL CapCut draft, byte-for-byte (nothing removed)
  coverage.json        proof that every field in the draft is understood (0 unknown)
  assets/
    video/ audio/ image/ sticker/ other/   the real source files (deduplicated by content)

Zip the folder and hand it over. A file reused across many clips is copied once; the manifest maps every clip back to it.

Requirements

• Node.js 18+ (which provides npx). Nothing else.
• CapCut closed while extracting.

Support

Verified against CapCut 6.1–8.9 on Windows and macOS. If a newer CapCut adds a field, coverage.json flags it as unknown rather than dropping it silently — report that and it gets added.
