Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

klumpen

A universal bundle analyzer for JavaScript projects. Auto-detects your bundler, runs the build, and shows an interactive breakdown in your terminal.

Install

bun add -g klumpen

Usage

cd your-project
klumpen

Klumpen scans for bundler configs, builds your project, and opens an interactive TUI with four views:

Summary — output size, source size, package & module counts
Packages — npm packages sorted by contribution to bundle size
Modules — individual files sorted by size
Import Chains — how each package is reached from the entry point

Press o to open a treemap visualization in your browser.

Flags

klumpen --no-tui   Plain text output
klumpen --json     JSON output for scripting

How It Works

Klumpen auto-detects bundler targets in your project (including monorepo subdirectories like apps/, packages/, services/), invokes each bundler's native build, parses the output metadata, and renders the results.
