Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

knot-ui

CLI to add Knot UI animated components to your project.

Usage

Initialize project

bunx knot-ui init

Add a component

bunx knot-ui add button
bunx knot-ui add tabs

Add multiple components at once

bunx knot-ui add button tabs

Interactive mode (pick from a list)

bunx knot-ui add

List all available components

bunx knot-ui list

Options

-d, --dir <path>   Target directory for components (default: src/components/ui)
-o, --overwrite     Overwrite existing files
-y, --yes           Skip confirmation prompts

What it does

Fetches the component source code from the Knot UI registry
Writes the .tsx file into your src/components/ui/ directory
Auto-installs any npm dependencies (e.g. motion, next-themes)
Recursively resolves registry dependencies (e.g. adding tabs-demo also adds tabs)

Package Manager Detection

The CLI automatically detects your package manager by checking for lock files:

bun.lock / bun.lockb → bun add
pnpm-lock.yaml → pnpm add
yarn.lock → yarn add
Otherwise → npm install
