Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Environment Files

The tool automatically creates .env files for both frontend and backend with commonly used environment variables:

Directory Structure

After running the tool, your project will have the following structure:

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to your project directory

  2. Run mps and follow the interactive prompts

  3. Install dependencies in both directories:

    cd frontend && npm install
    cd ../backend && npm install
  4. Configure your .env files with actual values

  5. Start development:

    # Frontend
    cd frontend && npm run dev
    
    # Backend (in another terminal)
    cd backend && npm run dev

Requirements

  • Node.js 16+
  • npm 7+
