Laymetric

A deterministic content-aware layout engine for bounded canvases.

Pre-alpha: this initial release establishes the package and a minimal metadata API while the layout solver is being designed. It does not yet expose a production layout API.

Laymetric will measure content, solve spatial constraints, and rank compositions without requiring AI in its core execution path.

Principles

• Deterministic and fast by default
• Independent of slides, resumes, HTML, or any single output format
• Hard constraints for containment, overlap, and readability
• Soft objectives for hierarchy, spacing, balance, and density
• Optional AI analysis as an enhancement rather than a runtime dependency
