Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

https://ronikar.github.io/Leaflet.DistortableVideo/examples/

Requirements

Dependancies

  • Leaflet 1.^
  • Numeric.js 1.2.6
  • JQuery

Browser Compatibility

Your browser must support the next features

  • object-fit for video element - https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/object-fit
  • matrix3d() - https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/transform-function/matrix3d

Usage

Setup

  • Add script to html. You can use index.js or index.min.js in ./dist folder.
<script src="distortableVideoOverlay.js"></script>
  • You can also use npm install leaflet-distortable-video or yarn add leaflet-distortable-video.

L.distortableVideo(videoUrl, corners, options)

To instantiate a L.DistortableVideo, specify the video URL or videoElement, four corner points, and any L.VideoOverlay options in the L.distortableVideo factory method, for example:

var corners= {
            topLeft: L.latLng([30,-129]),
            topRight: L.latLng([32,-100]),
            bottomRight: L.latLng([13,-97]),
            bottomLeft: L.latLng([13,-130])
};

let layer = L.distortableVideoOverlay("https://www.mapbox.com/bites/00188/patricia_nasa.mp4", corners, {
  opacity: 0.8
}).addTo(map);

topLeft, topRight, bottomLeft and bottomRight are instances of L.LatLng, corresponding to the locations of the corners of the video. corners can be also L.LatlngBounds in factory method.

Corners can be also array of points. The order of the points is topLeft, topRight, bottomRight and bottomLeft.

var topLeft = L.latLng([30, -129]);
var topRight = L.latLng([32, -100]);
var bottomRight = L.latLng([13, -97]);
var bottomLeft = L.latLng([13, -130]);
var corners = [topLeft, topRight, bottomRight, bottomLeft];

let layer = L.distortableVideoOverlay("https://www.mapbox.com/bites/00188/patricia_nasa.mp4", corners, {
  opacity: 0.8
}).addTo(map);

setCorners(corners)

This function enables to relocate the video on the map, for example:

var corners= {
            topLeft: L.latLng([30,-129]),
            topRight: L.latLng([32,-100]),
            bottomRight: L.latLng([13,-97]),
            bottomLeft: L.latLng([13,-130])
};

overlay.setCorners(corners);

Module Loaders

The index file is built by using webpack, in order to enable to use module loaders such as AMD and CommonJS.
