Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

legate-mcp

v1.0.0

MCP server for pushing content drafts into a Legate board (legate.social) from Claude Code, Codex, and other MCP clients.

Readme

legate-mcp

An MCP server that lets agents (Claude Code, Codex, and other MCP clients) push content drafts straight into your Legate board.

Three tools:

  • create_draft — send a draft. Omit account/campaign and it lands in your workspace scratch inbox for review; provide both and it drops into that board column.
  • list_accounts — the accounts (voices/columns) in your workspace.
  • list_campaigns — the campaigns (boards) in your workspace.

Setup

  1. In Legate, go to Team → API keys → Create key and copy it (shown once). Keys look like legate_sk_… and are scoped to one workspace.
  2. Add the server to your client.

Option A — hosted, no install (recommended)

Legate hosts the same server remotely, so you don't need this package at all:

claude mcp add --transport http legate https://legate.social/api/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer legate_sk_..."

Option B — this stdio package

For clients that prefer a local stdio server:

claude mcp add legate --env LEGATE_API_KEY=legate_sk_... -- npx -y legate-mcp

Or in an .mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "legate": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "legate-mcp"],
      "env": { "LEGATE_API_KEY": "legate_sk_..." }
    }
  }
}

Config

| Env var | Required | Default | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | LEGATE_API_KEY | yes | — | Your legate_sk_… key. | | LEGATE_URL | no | https://legate.social | Override for self-hosted/staging. |

Example

"Draft a teaser for the launch and send it to my Legate inbox."

The agent calls create_draft with your text; it appears in the scratch inbox, where you promote it to a board column. Nothing is ever posted anywhere — Legate is a drafting board, not a publisher.
