Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

NPM wrapper for Antigravity CLI (Windows x64)

Readme

lgagy

NPM wrapper for the Antigravity CLI (Windows x64).

This package bundles the agy binary from the google-antigravity/antigravity-cli releases, allowing you to install it globally via npm and run it as lgagy.

Installation

Windows x64 only. The binary is pre-packaged inside the published tarball, so there is no download step at install time. On other platforms npm will refuse to install (EBADPLATFORM) rather than leaving you with an unusable command.

npm install -g lgagy

After installation, you can run the CLI using the lgagy command:

lgagy --help

Updating

Update through npm:

npm install -g lgagy@latest

The published version tracks the upstream release tag, so npm always resolves to the latest upstream build.

Prefer this over the CLI's own lgagy update subcommand. This package is npm-managed: npm records the installed version from package.json and does not re-check the binary afterwards, so a self-update leaves npm reporting a version that no longer matches the file on disk, and the next npm install -g overwrites the self-updated binary — potentially downgrading it without warning.

Note that the upstream CLI also runs a background auto-updater on its own, independently of the update subcommand. If you want npm to stay the single source of truth, disable it:

setx AGY_CLI_DISABLE_AUTO_UPDATE 1

The lgagy install subcommand (which edits PATH and shell profiles) is likewise unnecessary here — npm already puts lgagy on your PATH.

Development and Release

To build and release a new version of the package:

  1. Clone this repository.
  2. Run npm install to install dependencies.
  3. Copy .env.example to .env and set NPM_TOKEN to an npm automation token with publish rights. GITHUB_TOKEN is optional and only raises the GitHub API rate limit.
  4. Run the release script:
npm run release

The script will automatically:

  • Load NPM_TOKEN from .env.
  • Check the latest release version on GitHub.
  • Skip publishing if the version is already published on npm.
  • Download the Windows x64 binary zip.
  • Extract antigravity.exe into bin/ and rename it to lgagy.exe.
  • Update the version in package.json and package-lock.json.
  • Publish the package to npm.

The script aborts instead of publishing if the expected asset or the expected executable inside it is missing, so a rename upstream can never result in a stale binary being shipped under a new version number. If npm publish fails, the version bump is rolled back.
