Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Linkjob Interview Templates

Offline Markdown templates for coding, behavioral, and system design interview practice. Use the command line to create a focused note, or import the templates in a Node.js project. No account, API key, runtime dependency, or network request is needed to generate notes.

Quick start

Requires Node.js 20 or newer. Once this package is published to npm:

npx linkjob-interview-templates --list
npx linkjob-interview-templates coding
npx linkjob-interview-templates star --output "my-star-story.md"

npx downloads the package if it is not installed. The template generator itself runs offline. By default, the CLI prints Markdown to your terminal. --output writes a new file and refuses to replace an existing file. The destination folder must already exist.

Templates

| ID | Purpose | | --- | --- | | coding | Clarify constraints, plan a solution, compare complexity, and track tests | | star | Structure a behavioral story with concrete actions and evidence | | system-design | Work through requirements, scale, APIs, storage, and trade-offs | | review | Record questions, feedback, and focused follow-up practice | | checklist | Prepare logistics, equipment, questions, and next steps |

Install for repeated use

npm install --global linkjob-interview-templates
linkjob-interview checklist --output "interview-checklist.md"

JavaScript API

npm install linkjob-interview-templates
const { listTemplates, getTemplate } = require('linkjob-interview-templates');

console.log(listTemplates());
const markdown = getTemplate('system-design');
console.log(markdown);

listTemplates() returns a fresh array of { id, name } objects. getTemplate(id) returns a Markdown string and throws for an unknown ID. TypeScript declarations are included.

Command reference

linkjob-interview --help
linkjob-interview --version
linkjob-interview --list
linkjob-interview <template>
linkjob-interview <template> --output <new-file>

Quote paths containing spaces. Existing files are never overwritten by --output. Use a path beginning with ./ if the filename begins with a hyphen. Normal output goes to stdout; errors and file creation messages go to stderr. Invalid inputs and write failures return exit code 1.

Privacy

No telemetry, tracking, login, external requests, install hooks, or AI processing. Only the bundled templates are read. Files are written only when you pass --output. Your shell, npm registry, and separately configured sync services have their own behavior.
