Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Connect AI coding agent telemetry to LobsterOne in one command

Readme

lobsterone

Connect Claude Code and Codex telemetry to LobsterOne in one command.

Quick start

npx lobsterone setup

This will walk you through sign-in (or account creation), generate API keys, and configure Claude Code and/or Codex automatically.

Commands

setup

Zero-to-done onboarding. Creates an account if needed, generates API keys, and writes telemetry config to Claude Code and/or Codex settings.

npx lobsterone setup
npx lobsterone setup --source codex
npx lobsterone setup --source all --no-verify

connect

Already have an API key from the dashboard? Connect it directly.

npx lobsterone connect --key rc_YOUR_KEY
npx lobsterone connect --key rc_YOUR_KEY --source codex
npx lobsterone connect --key rc_YOUR_KEY --source codex --no-verify

join

Join your team's organization using a setup token from an admin.

npx lobsterone join --token rst_YOUR_TOKEN
npx lobsterone join --token rst_YOUR_TOKEN --source all
npx lobsterone join --token rst_YOUR_TOKEN --source all --no-verify

status

Check whether LobsterOne is configured and the connection is healthy.

npx lobsterone status
npx lobsterone status --json
npx lobsterone status --json --fail-on-issues

disconnect

Remove LobsterOne telemetry config from Claude Code and/or Codex. Your API key is preserved in the dashboard and can be revoked there.

npx lobsterone disconnect
npx lobsterone disconnect --source codex

rename

Rename a configured Claude Code or Codex instance.

npx lobsterone rename "Mac Mini Bot" --source codex

import

Import historic Claude Code usage from Claude's local stats-cache.json. This command is Claude Code only.

npx lobsterone import --dry-run

How it works

Claude Code and Codex have built-in OpenTelemetry support. The CLI writes LobsterOne telemetry settings into Claude Code (~/.claude/settings.json) and Codex (~/.codex/config.toml) while preserving unrelated telemetry config already present on the machine. No agents, no SDKs, no background processes.

Requirements

  • Node.js 18+
  • Claude Code and/or Codex installed

Development

npm install
npm run build # compile TypeScript
npm run dev # run from source via tsx
npm test # build and run regression tests
