Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

CLI for Localesy translation management

Readme

Localesy CLI

Command-line interface for Localesy - AI-powered translation management for developers.

Installation

npx localesy@latest <command>

Or install globally:

npm install -g localesy

Quick Start

# Initialize a project by scanning your translation files
npx localesy init

# Check translation status
npx localesy status

# Push local translations to Localesy (pulls first if Localesy is ahead)
npx localesy push

# Translate changes on your branch to all languages
npx localesy translate

Commands

| Command | Description | | ----------- | ----------------------------------------------------- | | config | View or update project configuration | | init | Initialize Localesy by scanning for translation files | | login | Authenticate with Localesy | | logout | Clear stored credentials | | new | Create a new language, project, or organization | | open | Open the project in your browser | | status | Show translation stats and sync status | | push | Push local translations (pulls first if remote ahead) | | pull | Pull translations from Localesy into local files | | translate | Translate source changes to target languages |

Workflow

1. Initialize your project

npx localesy init --path ./src/locales

The CLI will scan your translation files (JSON, YAML, PO), detect languages, and create a project on Localesy.

2. Keep translations in sync

# Push local changes (pulls first if Localesy is ahead, so you never clobber remote edits)
npx localesy push

# Pull remote changes into your local files
npx localesy pull

# Skip the sync-status check and all prompts (e.g. in CI)
npx localesy push --yes

3. Translate missing keys

When your source files have keys that target languages are missing:

npx localesy translate

This analyzes your local files against Localesy, identifies missing keys, and generates translations for the target languages you select. The translated files are written to your local translation files — run git diff to review the changes.

4. Add new languages

npx localesy new
# Select "New language" and choose from available locales

Authentication

The CLI uses browser-based authentication. Run any command and you'll be prompted to log in via your browser. Credentials are stored locally at ~/.localesy/auth.json.

Configuration

Project configuration is stored locally and linked to your working directory. View or update it with:

npx localesy config

Environment Variables

| Variable | Description | | ------------------ | ----------------------------- | | LOCALESY_API_URL | Override the Localesy API URL | | LOCALESY_APP_URL | Override the Localesy app URL |
