Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

LovedOne Family MCP — stdio proxy to https://api.lovedone.app/mcp/v1 (app.lovedone/family-inbox). Not LovedOne Soft MCP.

lovedone-mcp

npm npm downloads

Stdio MCP proxy for LovedOne Family MCP (app.lovedone/family-inbox). It does not reimplement tools. It forwards JSON-RPC to the live remote:

https://api.lovedone.app/mcp/v1

This is the family product (one household inbox). It is not LovedOne Soft MCP (providers) and not the Sandwich public directory.

| | | |---|---| | Version | 0.3.1 (matches live Family MCP) | | Registry | app.lovedone/family-inbox | | Remote | https://api.lovedone.app/mcp/v1 | | Auth | Authorization: Bearer sk-sand-… | | Env | LOVEDONE_API_KEY | | Mint key | inbox.lovedone.app/settings/mcp-keys | | Sibling | lovedone-soft-mcp → Soft portal → Settings → MCP keys |

A Soft / agency key on this surface is HTTP 403 WRONG_SURFACE, not a silent mix-up.

Mint a key

  1. Sign in at inbox.lovedone.app.
  2. Open Settings → MCP keys (direct link).
  3. Create a key and copy the plaintext once. It starts with sk-sand-.
  4. Set LOVEDONE_API_KEY in your MCP client. Do not commit the key.

If you lose the plaintext, mint a new key and revoke the old one.

Cursor

~/.cursor/mcp.json (or project .cursor/mcp.json):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "lovedone-family": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "lovedone-mcp"],
      "env": {
        "LOVEDONE_API_KEY": "sk-sand-REPLACE"
      }
    }
  }
}

Claude Desktop / Claude Code

~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json (macOS):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "lovedone-family": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "lovedone-mcp"],
      "env": {
        "LOVEDONE_API_KEY": "sk-sand-REPLACE"
      }
    }
  }
}
npx -y lovedone-mcp

The process exits with a clear error if LOVEDONE_API_KEY is missing. It will not fall back to SANDWICH_SOFT_API_KEY.

Remote HTTP (no npx)

Clients that speak Streamable HTTP can skip this package:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "lovedone-family": {
      "url": "https://api.lovedone.app/mcp/v1",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer sk-sand-REPLACE"
      }
    }
  }
}

Tools

Tools live on the remote. Typical family tools: ping, get_user_profile, list_loved_ones, list_family_members, list_inbox_messages, get_inbox_message, list_care_events, invite_family_member, create_provider_code, reply_to_inbox_message. HTML email is never returned. Viewers cannot run the write tools.
