Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

mas-ade

Terminal client for a Mas ADE agent — an AI dev team you normally drive over WhatsApp. This lets you drive the same agent from a shell instead.

It is a thin client: it talks HTTP to a running Mas ADE orchestrator. It does nothing on its own.

Requirements

  • Node.js >= 20
  • A Mas ADE orchestrator you can reach, started with CLI_ENABLED=true
  • Its INTERNAL_SHARED_SECRET

Install

npm i -g mas-ade
# or run without installing:
npx mas-ade "status"

Configure

Set these in the environment, or in a .env file in the directory you run from:

| Variable | Default | What | |---|---|---| | ORCHESTRATOR_URL | http://localhost:4000 | Base URL of the orchestrator | | INTERNAL_SHARED_SECRET | (required) | Must match the orchestrator's |

If the orchestrator is on another machine, tunnel to it — do not expose its port publicly:

ssh -N -L 4000:localhost:4000 user@your-server

Use

mas-ade # REPL — type instructions line by line, Ctrl+C to quit
mas-ade "tambahin endpoint /health" # one-shot: send, print replies until it goes quiet, exit
mas-ade --wait=30 "review PR 12" # wait 30s of silence before deciding it's done
mas-ade --version # print the version

Auto-update

On startup (throttled to once every 6h) it checks npm for a newer version and, if there is one, npm i -gs it and re-execs so you're always on the latest. Turn it off with --no-update (once) or MAS_ADE_NO_UPDATE=1 (permanent). It's also skipped under npx and in CI. If the install fails (e.g. needs sudo) it just prints the command and continues on the current version.

Every command that works over WhatsApp works here (status, pakai <project>, daftar model, tanya: ..., kerjain issue 5, ...). Tappable options are shown as [id] label lines — type the id. Images/documents/voice come through only as [file: ...] notes; a terminal can't render them.

The CLI uses one fixed conversation identity (CLI_SENDER_ID on the orchestrator, default cli), separate from any WhatsApp number, so its active project and memory persist across runs.

Security

Whoever has INTERNAL_SHARED_SECRET and can reach the orchestrator has full autonomous control of the agent — it commits and pushes to the repositories it manages. Treat the secret accordingly. There is no per-user permission or audit split yet.
