Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

@unsuredev/mcp-server-minimal

A minimal Model Context Protocol (MCP) server implementation with support for multiple transport modes.

Installation

npm install -g @unsuredev/mcp-server-minimal

Or use it locally in your project:

npm install @unsuredev/mcp-server-minimal

Usage

Command Line

The package provides multiple executable commands:

stdio mode (default for MCP clients)

mcp-server-minimal-stdio

HTTP mode

mcp-server-minimal-http

SSE mode

mcp-server-minimal-sse

Environment Variables

  • PORT: Set the port for HTTP/SSE modes (default: 3000)
PORT=8080 mcp-server-minimal-http

Available Tools

hello

Returns a "Hello, world!" message.

Example:

Transport Modes

stdio Mode

Perfect for Claude Desktop and other MCP clients that use standard input/output.

mcp-server-minimal-stdio

HTTP Mode

Stateless HTTP endpoint for integration with web services.

mcp-server-minimal-http

Access at: http://localhost:3000/mcp

SSE Mode

Server-Sent Events for real-time communication with persistent connections.

mcp-server-minimal-sse

Access at: http://localhost:3000/sse

Development

Build

npm run build
