mcp-sight
Give Claude Code the power of sight — describe images using any vision-capable LLM (OpenAI-compatible API).
Setup
Method 1: claude mcp add (recommended)
claude mcp add mcp-sight \
--scope user \
--env VISION_API_KEY=sk-your-api-key \
--env VISION_BASE_URL=https://api.openai.com/v1 \
--env VISION_MODEL=gpt-4o \
-- bunx --bun mcp-sightMethod 2: Edit ~/.claude.json directly
Add to the mcpServers block in ~/.claude.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"mcp-sight": {
"command": "bunx",
"args": ["--bun", "mcp-sight"],
"env": {
"VISION_API_KEY": "sk-your-api-key",
"VISION_BASE_URL": "https://api.openai.com/v1",
"VISION_MODEL": "gpt-4o"
}
}
}
}Method 3: .mcp.json for team sharing
Same JSON as above, placed in <project>/.mcp.json — commit to git so the whole team gets it.
