Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Media Up IGID

media-up-igid is a copious-transitions-apps package. This package handles secondary transition processes required to finalize a media upload to persistence services. These transactions are keyed by Intergalactic identities.

The npm page: media-up-igid

media-up-igid uses sessions created by captcha-igid and finalizes the upload of media files. media-up-igid delivers the file to persistence services by adding the file to a respository via repository-bridge. The persistence service will be expected to pin the media file on its hard drive, which may move the file into drives internal to a micro-cloud or which may inject the file into a p2p file sharing system.

copious-transitions is a generalized framework for handling state transtitions from web clients as well as from message-relay-services endpoints. copious-transitions-apps are descendants of the CopiousTransitions class exported from copious-transitions

Intergalactic identities may be obtained on the of-this.world website. At the following address: of-this.worldig/igid-creator/

Installation

media-up-igid is an npm package: media-up-igid

The media-up-igid package provides a bash command line which can be accessed if the package is installed globally as such:

npm install -g media-up-igid

This installation will create a script link in the bin directory configured for your npm. You should be able to confirm its installation with the following command:

which igid-upload

running the program

The igid-upload program will run if a configuration file can be read from the working directory. If the working directory contains a configuration file with the name, igid-media-up-service.conf the program can be run by just entering the command name:

igid-upload

Otherwise, a configuration file must be specified:

igid-upload custom.conf

Making connections

igid-upload may start up with default connections to databases and services. But, the connections may be set after it starts listening on all of its servers.

The way to make custom connections to services (likely better than the defaults) is to make use of the tool, com_link_manager. The tool can be installed on your system using npm as such:

npm install -g com_link_manager

Then, run this command with a configuration file name parameter (required).

com_link_manager link_construction_conf.conf

The configuration files for this tool are JSON formatted instructions telling the target program (running program) what classes to load, instantiate, and initialize.

Refer to com_link_manager for examples.

Siblings

media-up-igid provides uploading services for websites that are authorized by captcha-igid. media-up-igid will not operate outside of the captcha-igid context.

copious-transitions-apps provides a few other programs that can share session information managed by captcha-igid.

Here is a list of some other npm packages for running associated processes for uploading and asset access:
