Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

OpenClaw hook pack for MemoClaw — persistent cloud memory across sessions, agents, and devices

Readme

memoclaw-hooks 🧠

OpenClaw hook pack for MemoClaw — persistent cloud memory for AI agents.

Your agent remembers across sessions, devices, and reboots. No local files to manage, no filesystem to maintain. Just memory that works.

Why

Every time your OpenClaw agent starts a new session, it forgets everything. Local files help, but they're fragile — they don't survive machine changes, they can't be shared across agents, and grep doesn't do semantic search.

MemoClaw stores memories in the cloud with vector embeddings. This hook pack wires it into OpenClaw's lifecycle so it happens automatically.

What It Does

| Event | Action | |-------|--------| | Session start | Recalls relevant memories for the user's first message | | /new command | Extracts and stores important context before session reset | | Context compaction | Saves key information before the context window is compressed | | Heartbeat | Periodic consolidation to merge duplicate memories | | Gateway startup | Recalls recent memories for agent continuity |

Install

# 1. Install the MemoClaw CLI
npm install -g memoclaw

# 2. Set your wallet key (this is your identity — no registration needed)
export MEMOCLAW_PRIVATE_KEY=0x...

# 3. Install and enable the hook pack
openclaw hooks install memoclaw-hooks
openclaw hooks enable memoclaw

# 4. Restart gateway
openclaw gateway restart

Verify:

openclaw hooks list --verbose
openclaw hooks check

Configuration

All via environment variables:

| Variable | Required | Default | Description | |----------|----------|---------|-------------| | MEMOCLAW_PRIVATE_KEY | Yes | — | Wallet private key for auth | | MEMOCLAW_URL | No | https://api.memoclaw.com | API endpoint | | MEMOCLAW_NAMESPACE | No | default | Isolate memories per agent |

Multi-Agent Memory

Same wallet, different namespaces = isolated memory per agent. Same wallet, same namespace = shared memory across agents.

# In agent A's environment
MEMOCLAW_NAMESPACE=agent-a

# In agent B's environment
MEMOCLAW_NAMESPACE=agent-b

# Shared knowledge base
MEMOCLAW_NAMESPACE=shared

Pricing

  • 100 free calls per wallet. No credit card, no signup.
  • After that: $0.005–$0.01 per call via x402 micropayments (USDC on Base)
  • The hook uses ~2-4 API calls per session lifecycle

How It Compares to Local Memory

| | MemoClaw | Local files | |---|---|---| | Survives machine changes | ✅ | ❌ | | Semantic search | ✅ | ❌ (keyword only) | | Multi-agent sharing | ✅ | ❌ | | Auto-deduplication | ✅ | ❌ | | Zero filesystem management | ✅ | ❌ | | Works offline | ❌ | ✅ | | Free forever | 100 calls | ✅ |
