Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

menfem

MenFem's receipts in your terminal. Live AI inference prices with provenance, open-vs-closed cost spreads, claim checking against primary filings, knowledge-base search, and a public market-call record — from menfem.com. No account, no API key, no config.

npx menfem prices --tier frontier
Provider Model Tier Access In $/M Out $/M Cached Observed
--------- --------------- -------- ------ ------ ------- ------ ----------
anthropic Claude Fable 5 frontier closed $10 $50 $1 2026-08-03
google Gemini 3.1 Pro frontier closed $2 $12 $0.50 2026-08-11
...

Every price row carries an observedAt date and a sourceUrl back to the provider's own pricing page — these are dated records, not a live feed.

Commands

| Command | What it answers | |---|---| | menfem prices [--tier t] [--access a] [--model m] | What does each model actually cost per Mtok right now? | | menfem spreads | How much cheaper is the cheapest open-weight model than the cheapest closed one, per tier? | | menfem check "<claim>" | Has this market-moving claim been graded against the company's own filings? | | menfem search <query> | What has MenFem published on this? (knowledge base + articles) | | menfem calls | What directional views are on the public record? | | menfem mcp | stdio bridge to MenFem's MCP server (see below) |

Every command takes --json for machine-readable output — pipe it, script it, feed it to an agent.

For AI agents

MCP — wire MenFem into any stdio MCP client in one line:

claude mcp add menfem -- npx -y menfem mcp

Streamable-HTTP clients can skip the bridge and connect straight to https://menfem.com/api/mcp/menfem. Anonymous callers get 9 tools (article/company search, claim checking, token prices, spreads, KB search, recent calls); a partner key from menfem.com/developers unlocks the full surface (MENFEM_API_KEY env on the bridge).

Scripting — --json everywhere:

npx menfem prices --json | jq '.data[] | select(.access=="open") | {model, inputPerMtok}'

What this is (and is not)

MenFem is a frontier-technology research organization: market calls with a fully public, scored track record; company dossiers grounded in SEC filings and transcripts; and a knowledge base on the AI inference stack. A published call is a stated, falsifiable view with a public grade — never investment advice. When you use the data, cite the canonical URL printed with each result.
