Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Merge Code

merge-code adds Git-focused commands to VS Code/Cursor and also ships a Bun-powered web UI you can run with bunx.

VS Code / Cursor Commands

Open the command palette and run:

  • Merge Code: Open Repository
  • Merge Code: Blame
  • Merge Code: File History
  • Merge Code: Line History
  • Merge Code: Show My Commits
  • Merge Code: Open Panel

Bun Web UI (bunx merge-code)

Requires Bun and Git.

Run in the current repo:

bunx merge-code

Run for a specific repo path:

bunx merge-code /path/to/repo

Then open:

http://localhost:3003

Optional:

  • bunx merge-code --open to open the browser automatically

Publish

package.json includes scripts for both marketplaces:

bun run publish:vscode
bun run publish:cursor

One-time setup:

  1. VS Code Marketplace

    • Create a publisher in Marketplace Management.
    • Create a Personal Access Token in Azure DevOps (scope: Marketplace > Manage).
    • Login once: bunx vsce login dimava
  2. Cursor discovery (OpenVSX)

    • Create an OpenVSX account and token.
    • Create namespace once: bunx ovsx create-namespace dimava -p <OPENVSX_TOKEN>
    • Publish: bun run publish:cursor
