Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

mind-expander

An infinite-canvas workspace for coding with AI agents.

Pair-programming with an AI falls apart on large codebases — the AI can't see what you see, you can't see what it's reasoning about. mind-expander is the infinite-canvas workspace that closes that gap. Today it's a live, tourable diagram of any codebase; the goal is the full workspace for coding with AI agents.

Usage

# View any codebase
npx mind-expander view /path/to/repo

# View a diff
npx mind-expander view /path/to/repo --at main..HEAD

The binary self-daemonizes on Unix and prints a pid + port you can use to drive tours from an AI agent.

Skill integration

The npm package ships the AI-agent skill file at node_modules/mind-expander/skill/mind-expander.md. Install it into your AI agent's skill directory (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) so the agent can build tours for you automatically.
