Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

miru-cli

v0.1.0

Published

npm i -g miru-cli

or
brew install --cask miru

Legacy package:
@openai/codex
</sub>

Readme

[!NOTE] This repository recently renamed Codex CLI to Miru CLI. Most file paths and configuration directories still use the codex prefix for compatibility; treat any remaining “Codex” references in this documentation as referring to miru.

Quickstart

Installing and running Miru CLI

Install globally with your preferred package manager. If you use npm:

npm install -g miru-cli

Alternatively, if you use Homebrew:

brew install --cask miru

Then simply run miru to get started:

miru

If you're running into upgrade issues with Homebrew, see the FAQ entry on brew upgrade miru.

Each GitHub Release contains many executables, but in practice, you likely want one of these:

  • macOS
    • Apple Silicon/arm64: codex-aarch64-apple-darwin.tar.gz
    • x86_64 (older Mac hardware): codex-x86_64-apple-darwin.tar.gz
  • Linux
    • x86_64: codex-x86_64-unknown-linux-musl.tar.gz
    • arm64: codex-aarch64-unknown-linux-musl.tar.gz

Each archive contains a single entry with the platform baked into the name (e.g., miru-x86_64-unknown-linux-musl), so you likely want to rename it to miru after extracting it.

Using Codex with your ChatGPT plan

Run miru and select Sign in with ChatGPT. We recommend signing into your ChatGPT account to use miru as part of your Plus, Pro, Team, Edu, or Enterprise plan. Learn more about what's included in your ChatGPT plan.

You can also use miru with an API key, but this requires additional setup. If you previously used an API key for usage-based billing, see the migration steps. If you're having trouble with login, please comment on this issue.

Model Context Protocol (MCP)

miru can access MCP servers. To configure them, refer to the config docs.

Configuration

Miru CLI supports a rich set of configuration options. Preferences currently reuse the Codex path at ~/.codex/config.toml for backward compatibility. For full configuration options, see Configuration.
