Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

The World's first Distributed Virtual Machine!

The Holy Grail(s) of Computing

The holy grail in compute?

Quantum Computing! Qubits, exploring all paths simultaneously, constant time ops, no matter the size of the dataset!

The holy grail in storage?

High availability, High concurrency, ACID txs!

The holy grail in security?

Local-first. Encrypted at rest. Encrypted in transit. Password-less. Encrypted at runtime!, homomorphically encrypted!

The holy grail in DRM?

Honest copyright/privacy protection. Cheat prevention. Fair, transparent, guaranteed life-long access after purchase.

Moebius VM

The holy grail of VMs

Super light-weight, built-in GC, rate limiter/load balancer, 'distributed virtual memory', no stack overflows, no null pointers, no out-of-memory, no timeouts(₁), no rounding errors (₂). Cross-platform/architecture, runs on every device, zero-install. Encryption at rest, in-flight, at run-time. Fork/Merge and Sign/Verify as low-level native-ops. Built from the ground up for one purpose: massively parallel, secure distributed computing.

How???

Just recently, after years of exploratory research, basically purely out of curiosity, I stumbled upon a revelation. We are doing it wrong!! Have been, for 5 decades straight! We should do everything radically different!

I found something. Found it again I should say. We knew this. Some still do I think. But we have been doing computing wrong! For a long time now. There is treasure to be found for those who achieve balance! That treasure will unlock powers akin to quantum computing and qubits, running on regular old-fashioned machines. Not simulating it, but actually exploring all possible paths and end up going faster, not slower, then if you explored only one...

The only catch? We have to really start over. Hence, a virtual machine that showcases the possibilities so everyone can see and judge for themselves.

It will be a painfull process. we will have to re-build from scratch. This will be the Great Reset for computing! But when I strike gold, I know it.

I am playing my cards a bit closer to the chest than usual on this one. I usually share everything I find, right away... But sometimes, when you strike gold, you have to be bit more tight-lipped than usual...

But don't worry! I am fully committed to the Open Source model. You will be able to use Moebius VM for free and without restriction, forever. And you will be able to read the full source code, of course! As soon as I finish it, that is! 😅

A peek

Just a hint then. We already achieved balance, a long time ago... But back then it did not offer as much advantage and like the electrical car, it was soon forgotten.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Setun

This is not the complete picture... You have to add some curvature to imbalance the balance so to say, and create 'the force'

Coming soon!

I am making no promises! It will be ready, when it's done. But the way things are going expect updates in Q1 next year. I can't wait!
