Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Monitor url tool

Simple too to monitor one or more urls. The tool will beep in error events.

Install

	npm install -g monitor-url-tool

Usage

	monurl 5000 http://www.example.com

will check example.com every 5 seconds.

	monurl 5000 servers.conf

while servers.conf will look like this:

	google, http://www.google.com
	yahoo, http://www.yahoo.com
	#comments can be embedded in the file, but only in their own line
	facebook, http://www.facebook.com

the tool also provides a cli which allows adding servers after its been started:

	monitor> addServer('beer', 'http://beer.com')
