Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

mqdb-wasm

v0.3.3

Published

WASM client library for MQDB reactive database

Readme

mqdb-wasm

WebAssembly bindings for mqdb, providing an in-memory database for browser environments.

Build

wasm-pack build --target web

Usage

import init, { WasmDatabase } from './pkg/mqdb_wasm.js';

await init();

const db = new WasmDatabase();

// Define schema
db.add_schema("users", {
  fields: [
    { name: "name", type: "string", required: true },
    { name: "email", type: "string" }
  ]
});

// Async CRUD operations
const user = await db.create("users", { name: "Alice", email: "[email protected]" });
const found = await db.get("users", user.id);
await db.update("users", user.id, { name: "Bob" });
const all = await db.list("users");
await db.delete("users", user.id);

// Sync CRUD operations (memory backend only)
const user2 = db.create_sync("users", { name: "Carol", email: "[email protected]" });
const found2 = db.read_sync("users", user2.id);
db.update_sync("users", user2.id, { name: "Dave" });
const all2 = db.list_sync("users");
db.delete_sync("users", user2.id);

// Subscribe to changes
const subId = db.subscribe("*", null, (event) => {
  console.log(event.operation, event.entity, event.id, event.data);
});

db.unsubscribe(subId);

API

Async Methods

| Method | Description | |--------|-------------| | create(entity, data) | Create record, returns with generated id | | read(entity, id) | Get record by id | | update(entity, id, fields) | Partial update, returns merged record | | delete(entity, id) | Delete record | | list(entity, options?) | List all records for entity |

Sync Methods (memory backend only)

| Method | Description | |--------|-------------| | create_sync(entity, data) | Create record synchronously | | read_sync(entity, id) | Get record by id synchronously | | update_sync(entity, id, fields) | Partial update synchronously | | delete_sync(entity, id) | Delete record synchronously | | list_sync(entity, options?) | List records synchronously | | is_memory_backend() | Returns true if using memory storage |

Other

| Method | Description | |--------|-------------| | subscribe(pattern, entity, callback) | Subscribe to changes, returns subscription id | | unsubscribe(subId) | Unsubscribe | | add_schema(entity, schema) | Register schema with validation | | get_schema(entity) | Get registered schema |

Notes

  • new WasmDatabase() creates an in-memory instance (data lost on page refresh)
  • WasmDatabase.open_persistent(name) creates an IndexedDB-backed instance
  • Sync methods (*_sync) only work with the memory backend; they throw on IndexedDB
  • Field types: string, number, boolean, array, object
  • Subscription patterns: * (all), entity (exact), prefix/* (prefix match)
