Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

grpc-server

grpc-server is a wrapper around official grpc package. It handles multiple proto files for various grpc clients. Sometimes multiple clients communicate with the core server. So there are many proto files on the server. This package helps to achieve this functionality quickly and easily.

PREREQUISITES

  • node: This requires node to be installed, version 8.0 or above.

  • Note: If you installed node via a package manager and the version is still less than 4.0, try directly installing it from nodejs.org.

HOW TO RUN?

npm run build
npm start

INSTALLATION

npm install multi-proto-grpc-server

Example

notification.proto

syntax = "proto3";

package notification;

service Notification {
  rpc send(Request_Notification) returns (Response_Notification) {}
}

message Request_Notification {
  required string notificationType = 1;
  required string payload = 2;
}

message Response_Notification {
  string response = 1;
}

notification.proto

syntax = "proto3";

package notification1;

service Notification1 {
  rpc send1(Request_Notification) returns (Response_Notification) {}
}

message Request_Notification {
  required string notificationType = 1;
  required string payload = 2;
}

message Response_Notification {
  string response = 1;
}

index.js

const { GRPC, ServiceMap } = require('multi-proto-grpc-server');

const serviceContainer = {
  send: (call, callback) => {
  // - - - <code> - - -
    callback(null, 'some result');
  }
}

const serviceContainer1 = {
  send1: (call, callback) => {
    // - - - <code> - - -
    callback(null, 'some result');
  }
}

const notificationServiceMap = new ServiceMap('notification', serviceContainer);
const notificationServiceMap1 = new ServiceMap('notification', serviceContainer1);

new GRPC([
  { packageName: 'notification', serviceName: 'Notification', PROTO_PATH: './notification.proto', serviceMap: notificationServiceMap.map },
  { packageName: 'notification1', serviceName: 'Notification', PROTO_PATH: './notification1.proto', serviceMap: notificationServiceMap1.map }
]).run('0.0.0.0:50051');
