Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

multiai

Route multiple AI CLIs (Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode) through isolated environment profiles. One command, 37+ provider profiles, API keys kept in your OS credential store.

The published npm package installs the native Go binary for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Requires Node.js 24.14 or newer. Older environments can use the standalone Go binary from GitHub Releases instead.

Quick install

What npm installation does

  1. Downloads the archive for your platform from the matching GitHub release (windows/amd64, darwin/amd64+arm64, linux/amd64+arm64).
  2. Verifies its SHA256 against the release checksums.txt — a mismatch aborts the install before anything is extracted.
  3. Installs the binary inside the package and exposes it through a Node shim (multiai on your PATH).

On Windows, the explicit install command discovers npm's global prefix, verifies that multiai.cmd exists, and adds that directory to the current user's persistent PATH when needed. The operation is idempotent, requires no administrator rights, and never uses setx. Open a new terminal after the first installation; a child process cannot rewrite the current shell's environment.

This PATH automation belongs to the explicit npx ... multiai install workflow above. A raw npm install --global multiai still relies on npm's global prefix already being configured in PATH.

The checksums.txt itself is signed with Cosign (keyless, GitHub Actions OIDC). To verify the whole chain manually:

The npm installer does not run cosign for you (it only checks SHA256); run the commands above if you want signature-level assurance.
