Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Mythouse Atlas — MCP Server

Install the Mythouse Atlas mythology engine as native tools in Claude Code. 12 tools + ambient instructions that prime Claude to think mythologically by default. Built on twenty years of original research mapping story structure, archetypal patterns, and transformation cycles as structured, queryable data.

Install

claude mcp add atlas -- npx mythouse-atlas --key myt_YOUR_KEY

Or using an environment variable:

export MYTHOUSE_API_KEY=myt_YOUR_KEY
claude mcp add atlas -- npx mythouse-atlas

After installation, every Claude Code session will have Atlas available as native tools. The mythology isn't something you call — it's in the room.

For Companies — Generate Your Myth File

Atlas can map your company's narrative architecture automatically. Make sure your project directory contains your content — site repo, docs, pitch decks, case studies, emails, brand materials — then tell Claude:

"Generate my company myth file."

Atlas reads everything accessible, maps it against the coordinate system, and produces a myth-file.md with five sections:

  1. Archetypal Cast — who plays what role in your company's story (Hero, Mentor, Herald, Threshold Guardian, Shadow, Shapeshifter)
  2. Journey Stage — where your company is in the transformation cycle
  3. Voice Principles — how your mythology shapes the way you communicate
  4. Threshold Moments — the crossings where your customers transform
  5. Narrative Rules — structural patterns every piece of content should follow

The myth file compounds — every session refines it. Ask Atlas to update any section as your company evolves.

Best results

The more content Atlas can read, the deeper the mapping:

  • Your website — clone your site repo, or export CMS pages as markdown/HTML
  • Company docs — pitch decks, brand guides, messaging frameworks, internal docs
  • Customer-facing content — email campaigns, case studies, blog posts, social copy
  • Organize it — put everything in one project directory. Any format works (markdown, HTML, PDF, plain text)
