Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

n8n community node for the 08byte Edge Data Parser & Token Compression API.

Install

In n8n: Settings → Community Nodes → Install, package name n8n-nodes-08byte.

Or self-hosted:

npm install n8n-nodes-08byte

Credentials

Add an 08byte API credential with your API key (Authorization: Bearer — get a free trial key with curl -s -X POST https://api.08byte.com/v1/trial-key).

Resource: Page Parser

Operations:

Parse URL — standard or mode-preset extraction (news, product, real_estate, job_posting, financial_report, e_commerce, research, social, docs, default).
Extract with Custom Schema — build the exact JSON fields to extract in the UI (key, type, required, description) instead of a mode preset.
Raw Fetch — clean HTML to plain text, no AI compression, no charge.

Advanced parameters:

Render JavaScript — force headless-browser rendering for JS-heavy SPAs.
Cache Mode — selects the mode preset (Parse URL operation only).

Verification status

This node typechecks cleanly against real [email protected] types (npm run typecheck), but has not been loaded and run inside an actual n8n instance in this environment — n8n-workflow's own dependency chain (isolated-vm) needs a native build toolchain that wasn't available here. Before publishing, load it into a real n8n dev instance (n8n start with this package linked via npm link) and exercise all three operations against a live API key.
