Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

n8n-nodes-bnr

Community n8n node for official BNR (National Bank of Romania) exchange rates, pulled from the bank's free public XML feed — no API key, no auth.

Romanian businesses are legally required to use BNR reference rates for invoicing, VAT and accounting. This node turns the daily manual lookup into an automated workflow.

Nodes

Installation

From the n8n UI (recommended)

  1. Go to Settings → Community Nodes → Install.
  2. Enter n8n-nodes-bnr and confirm.
  3. The BNR Exchange Rates node appears in the node panel.

With npm

npm install n8n-nodes-bnr

Example workflow

workflows/bnrExchangeRates-example.json — every morning fetch the EUR/RON rate, and if it moved more than 0.5% since the previous banking day, branch to a notification + a daily log. Import via Workflows → Import from File, then swap the placeholders for your Slack / Google Sheets nodes.

Local development

Tests

npm test

Tests run against real BNR XML snapshots (today + 10-day feeds), covering rate parsing, the multiplier handling, % change, the change-alert threshold, and the historical nearest-prior-banking-day fallback.
