Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Building Permits Construction Leads for n8n

Search public building permit records from n8n workflows. This community node runs the Apify actor pink_comic/building-permits and returns construction permit data useful for contractor lead generation, market research, and local project monitoring.

Install in n8n

In n8n, go to Settings → Community Nodes → Install and enter:

You need an Apify API token. Add it in the node credentials as an API key or OAuth2 credential.

Common workflows

  • Find new construction, remodeling, roofing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or solar leads
  • Monitor city permit activity on a schedule
  • Enrich CRM records with project value, contractor, address, and permit status
  • Trigger alerts for high-value local projects

Inputs

  • City: city key/name such as chicago, nyc, denver, or portland; optimized configs cover 47 cities and Socrata-backed cities can be auto-discovered
  • Keyword Search: search permit descriptions, addresses, contractors, and other fields
  • Permit Type Filter: optional partial match such as electrical, plumbing, or new building
  • Date From / Date To: optional YYYY-MM-DD issue-date range
  • Max Results: default 100, up to 50,000

Output

Each item contains normalized permit data such as permit number, city, permit type, status, issue date, address, description, project value, contractor/applicant fields, and source URL where available.
