Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

n8n-nodes-fill-docx

This is an n8n community node. It lets you fill a docx file with data using placeholders.

This node is based on n8n-nodes-generate-report, but with several improvements:

  • Updated the easy-template-x dependency to a current version
  • Added support for complex objects as input to easy-template-x
  • Added support for image insertion into templates
  • Removed PDF generation functionality to reduce complexity

For this node, the easy-template-x package is used. For more info on its usage, please check the package documentation. The start and end tag for normal data are {{ }} instead of the standard { } The tags for lists/containers are the same as default.

n8n is a fair-code licensed workflow automation platform.

Developer

Hi,

My name is Leon Chemnitz and I am the developer of this fork. The original node was developed by Bram ([email protected]).

For questions or issues with this node, please open an issue on Github.

Installation

Follow the installation guide in the n8n community nodes documentation.

Operations

  • Fill in placeholders of a DocX file with data, supporting complex objects.
  • Insert images into templates using binary data references.

Image Support

To insert images into your template, use the following format in your input data:

{
	"myImage": {
		"_type": "image",
		"source": "binaryPropertyName",
		"format": "png",
		"width": 200,
		"height": 200,
		"altText": "Image Description",
		"transparencyPercent": 80
	}
}

Where:

  • _type: Must be "image" to identify this as an image object
  • source: The binary property name containing the image data
  • format: The image format, either "png" or "jpg"
  • width: Width of the image in pixels
  • height: Height of the image in pixels
  • altText: Alternative text description for the image
  • transparencyPercent: (optional) Transparency level of the image (0-100)

Then in your template, use the placeholder {{myImage}} where you want the image to appear.

Compatibility

Tested on n8n version 1.69.2 and above.
