Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

n8n-nodes-kwikchat

n8n community node for kwikCHAT — send WhatsApp templates, manage contacts, and interject into live conversations from n8n workflows.

Installation

In n8n: Settings → Community Nodes → Install, and enter n8n-nodes-kwikchat.

Credentials

You'll need an API key from your kwikCHAT account:

  1. Log in to kwikCHAT and go to Settings → API Keys.
  2. Click New API Key, name it (e.g. "n8n"), and copy the key shown — it's only displayed once.
  3. In n8n, create a KwikChat API credential using that key and your kwikCHAT API base URL.

Important: the API base URL is not the web app URL you log in to — it's wherever the backend itself is hosted, which may be a path prefix on the same domain (e.g. https://app.kwikchat.co.za/api) or a separate subdomain, depending on how your instance is deployed. If you're not sure, check your kwikCHAT API docs URL — it'll look like https://<your-domain>/api/v1/docs — and use everything before /v1/docs as the Base URL. Pointing this at the web app by mistake will return the app's HTML instead of API data.

Supported operations

  • Channel: List, Get
  • Contact: List, Get, Create, Update
  • Conversation: List, Get, Get by Contact, Interject (send a manual message into an active conversation)
  • Template: List, Send Template, Send Test Message
  • Flow: List, Get

Example workflows

  • Send an order-confirmation WhatsApp template when a new order comes in (Template → Send Template).
  • Create a kwikCHAT contact when a form is submitted elsewhere (Contact → Create).
  • Have a human agent step into an automated conversation from another system (Conversation → Interject).

Development

This node's operation list is generated from kwikCHAT's OpenAPI schema via a curated resource map — see codegen/resource-map.ts and codegen/generate-n8n-node.ts. Re-run npm run codegen after updating codegen/openapi.snapshot.json from a running kwikCHAT backend, then npm run build.
