Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

n8n-nodes-loctris

An n8n community node for the Loctris text summarization API.

This package provides:

  • Loctris Summarize: Summarize article content immediately, queue delayed summarization, or retrieve saved summaries.
  • Loctris Summary Trigger: Poll the API for newly available summaries.

This is an unverified community node intended for self-hosted n8n instances. It is configured for normal public npm publishing, not n8n Cloud verification.

Prerequisites

  • A running Loctris/microServiceAPI backend.
  • A self-hosted n8n instance with community packages enabled.
  • API credentials:
    • Base URL, for example http://127.0.0.1:8090.
    • Summarization token.

Unverified community nodes aren't available on n8n Cloud.

Installation

Install from the n8n community nodes UI, or install manually in your n8n user folder:

npm install n8n-nodes-loctris

Then restart n8n.

For Docker-based n8n installs, make sure the n8n user folder is persisted so installed community packages survive container recreation.

Credentials

Create Loctris API credentials in n8n:

  • Base URL: The Loctris API base URL, for example http://127.0.0.1:8090.
  • Summarization Token: Token used for authorized summary retrieval.

Nodes

Loctris Summarize

Operations:

  • Summarize: Calls /direct/summarize and returns summaries immediately.
  • Summarize Delay: Calls /summarize, queues work, and returns the API response containing the summary token/address.
  • Get: Calls /summaries/{userId} and retrieves saved summaries.

Article input fields:

  • Title
  • Content
  • URL
  • Source
  • Article Categories as a JSON array, for example ["tech", "news"]

Loctris Summary Trigger

Polls /summaries/{userId} for summaries created since the last poll time.

Options:

  • User ID
  • Poll Since
  • Sort By
  • Sort Direction
  • Optional token override

Development

npm install
npm run lint
npm run build
npm run dev

Publishing

Manual npm publishing:

npm run build
npm pack --dry-run
npm publish --access public

npm run lint remains useful during development, but it is not required for npm-only publishing.

The repository also includes .github/workflows/publish.yml for ordinary public npm publishing with GitHub Actions and npm provenance.

This package intentionally disables n8n strict/cloud-support mode. Linting uses the non-cloud-support n8n ESLint config, which is suitable for npm-only publishing but not for n8n Cloud verification.
