n8n-nodes-msg91

An n8n community node for MSG91 — India's most popular SMS and OTP gateway.

Extends n8n's built-in MSG91 node with full OTP support (Send, Verify, Resend) plus improved SMS sending.

Features

• SMS — Send transactional or promotional SMS to single or multiple numbers
• OTP: Send — Send OTP with custom template, expiry, and optional custom OTP value
• OTP: Verify — Verify an OTP entered by the user
• OTP: Resend — Resend OTP via text or voice call

Installation

In your n8n instance, go to Settings → Community Nodes → Install and enter:

Credentials

1. Log in to your MSG91 dashboard
2. Go to Control Panel → API → Auth Key
3. Copy your Auth Key
4. In n8n, create a new MSG91 API credential and paste the Auth Key

Operations

SMS → Send SMS

| Parameter | Description | |-----------|-------------| | Mobile Number(s) | With country code, comma-separated for bulk | | Message | SMS body text | | Sender ID | Your 6-char DLT-registered sender ID | | Route | Transactional (4) or Promotional (1) | | Country Code | 91 for India, 0 for international |

OTP → Send OTP

| Parameter | Description | |-----------|-------------| | Mobile Number | With country code (e.g. 919999999999) | | Template ID | Your MSG91 OTP template (optional) | | Custom OTP | Provide your own OTP value (optional) | | OTP Expiry | Minutes until OTP expires (default: 5) |

OTP → Verify OTP

OTP → Resend OTP

Example Workflow: Missed Call OTP Auth

Webhook (missed call event)
  → MSG91 (OTP: Send) — sends OTP to caller
  → Wait for user input
  → MSG91 (OTP: Verify) — checks the OTP
  → If verified → trigger follow-up action
